Multiplying two negatives gives a positive. ‘I know’ can also be expressed, ‘I am not without knowledge’.
The content or the message is the same but the second expression communicates negativity and sounds wrong.

In our experience it is the same thing with Hi-Fi. If you place your electronic equipment on a glass table you are guaranteed to get a harsh and aggressive treble. It is often the case that people will try to compensate this with cables that are not neutral but rather soften the edge's. The sound may very well sound corrected, but just as in the sentence above it will sound forced and ‘bureaucratic’. And the more you try to compensate  for errors incorrectly, the worse will your situation be. You will finally be totally lost. This is why it is so important that the surrounding equipment always are as neutral as possible.
Start with your mains power & good grounding to create the foundation for your electronics. After that you make sure the rack and feets you use works without add or deduct. And finally choose cables by listening and test over and over again. What sounds good the first 30 minutes, can be a pain after 45.
